Reconfiguration inside St. Mary of the Valley Church

Overt the years parishioners have talked about reconfiguration inside St. Mary of the Valley Church. Now in my sixth year as your pastor, I have heard much of this discussion. Two needs specifically stand out: an adequate "quiet room" for parents with small children and better seating for elderly and others with special needs.

We do not have a packed church at the English masses that I attend. But, I hope that with new construction in many areas around and in Monroe, coupled with an increase in faith that we will increase mass attendance. I think it would be short sighted to dedicate existing seating areas for a "quiet room".
I also feel timing is wrong for financial reasons. We failed to meet our ACA goal, so have a short fall we are obligated to pay, our reserves are low because of the renovation last year and unexpected expenses because of the broken pipe mean planning for another large expense is not a good idea. In addition, parishioners will soon have opportunities to engage in fund raising activities for WYD 2016. Capitol Improvement fund raising while fund raising for WYD might be a problem.
